Plane Wave Refraction Simulation        Copyright B.E. Taylor, 1998, all rights reserved.

This applet simulates the refraction of a plane wave as it encounters a barrier that is at 45 degrees relative to the wavefront.  By changing the speed you can cause the wave to speed up or slow down as it enters the region to the right of the red line.   In the process, the direction of the wave is changed unless the speed just matches the speed to the left of the red line.  Changes take effect only when the motion automatically restarts.
